Thank you for your continuous support of Librotraficante, Nuestra Palabra, and Mexican American Studies. We now need your help for our new project.

I am the chair for the one of the largest conferences for Mexican American Literature, History, and Culture: the NACCS Tejas Foco, an annual regional conference for all of Texas, which I'm bringing to Houston, Feb. 26-28, 2015 at Lone Star College-North Harris.

The total cost for one student to attend the conference and the awards luncheon is $40.

Can you help Nuestra Palabra: Latino Writers Having Their Say get 10 more students in the conference? Can you help us get 25 students, as in an entire class?

We have requests for financial assistance from students who are in college full time and also working full time. Students from all over Texas want to attend, from far away as the Rio Grande Valley, and as close as downtown Houston.

Also, we want to raise 4 class room sets, for a total of 100 copies, of CHICANO! The History of the Mexican American Civil Rights Movement by F. Arturo Rosales. This is one of the books banned in Arizona where Mexican American Studies is prohibited.

These are the 4 sites we are raising books for: Baytown, San Antonio, Dallas, and Houston. Once we stock one, we will move on to the next. Each copy costs $25. Can you help get 20 into circulation? 40?

It is truly an honor to walk together into this Latino Renaissance. It's powerful to know we have done this together.

Regards,
Tony Diaz, El Librotraficante
